Our journey began in the heart of Rajasthan, where aloe vera fields tell a story of untapped potential. After the gel is extracted, heaps of aloe vera leaves are discarded as waste, leaving the plant underutilized.
Living in a hostel, we often interacted with the baijis—women who cleaned and cared for our space. Who shared with us that relying on cloth scraps for menstrual hygiene, often led to infections and discomfort. This led us to wonder how something as essential as menstrual hygiene could be out of reach for so many women. Delving into the topic, we questioned not only the affordability of sanitary pads but also their environmental and health impact.
After months of research, testing, and innovation, the ECOpad was born—a biodegradable sanitary pad made entirely from aloe vera rind, infused with natural elements like D-mannose sugar helping prevent UTI's. Our story is one of turning local challenges into a global solution, guided by our roots and a vision for a healthier, greener future.
